Here goes.....I'm thinking a blog is a great way for all of us to keep track of what is going on with the reunion in July and a way for all of us to respond and suggest things, etc. At least that's my thinking. I hope you all agree. This is a first for me so it may take some trial and error to get it all figured out. And it will take time so please be patient with me.
Some details:
1. Date--July 10-12
2. Time--24-7! Or whenever you want to drop in. But there will be some organized times, too.
3. Where--Shalom Hill Farm. A retreat center north of Windom, MN. www.shalomhillfarm.org
4. Accomodations---This is a 'motel' type place. There are rooms. I (Mary) will be accepting the payments for the rooms. I will be assigning the rooms, etc so the sooner you get an application in to me the better. I will be trying to make a pdf reservation form here soon. Wish me luck.
5. Food--We are going to try to have a potluck for Friday evening and Saturday noon. We will have a breakfast Saturday for a cost to be determined. The Tim Titus family will be in charge and doing the planning. The official reunion will be Saturday afternoon/evening from 1:00 PM and on with a barbecue at 5:00 PM at a cost of $5.00/person. Sunday morning we have decided to have the Retreat staff prepare brunch for us to be served at 10:30 AM. The cost for that will be about $6.50/person. (Cost for this is from 2008 and may increase this year).
6. Program--up for discussion. Maybe Mark will prepare some kind of a genealogy presentation. Bonfire at night. Making s'mores, etc. Both nights most likely.
7. Other activities--the facility has several small comfortable areas for visiting. There are board games. There is a pool table and foos ball table in the basement (storm cellar). There are a couple of short hiking trails. There is a swing set. We could probably bring horseshoes or some games like that to play. Some of you used to play volleyball. So that could happen maybe.
8. Drinks--you will all be invited to bring your own drinks although we will provide for coffee. And tea. Wine and beer is allowed in moderation of course. But can't imagine a Titus getting out of control with alcohol!
